Pilots sometimes roll throttle up, instead of down which can cause engine/rotor overspeed & possible damage.
“Fingernails up” is a way to avoid rolling the wrong way…
Use this technique when:
- Doing low RPM check
- Entering an autorotation
- Doing a hover auto
- Rolling down at shutdown
